Albany’s Historic Whaling Station has secured a remarkable double victory at the 2025 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards, winning Gold in both the Cultural Tourism and Tourist Attraction categories. The awards were announced at the Gala Dinner at Crown Perth on 8 November, celebrating the State’s most outstanding tourism operators across 26 categories.

This achievement marks the first Gold win for Cultural Tourism and the second consecutive year claiming Gold for Tourist Attraction, highlighting the station’s ongoing dedication to delivering an exceptional visitor experience. The awards recognise innovation, excellence, and commitment to making Western Australia a vibrant and inclusive destination for visitors.

Visitors to the Historic Whaling Station can explore Australia’s last operating whaling station, step aboard the accessible Whalechaser ship, and enjoy the site’s wildlife park and regional wildflower gardens. The expansive precinct offers a unique mix of history, culture, and nature, reflecting the award-winning experiences that continue to draw visitors from across the region and beyond.

Following the double Gold win, Albany’s Historic Whaling Station will proudly represent Western Australia at the Australian Tourism Awards in Fremantle on 6 March 2026, showcasing the spirit, heritage, and excellence of the Great Southern region.
