Sea Song & Shanty

Albany International Folk ‘n’ Shanty Festival

Saturday 11 & Sunday 12 July 2026

Join us for an afternoon of maritime melodies, lively shanties, and seafaring spirit, filled with singalongs, toe-tapping performances, and plenty of nautical charm.

Performances are included with your Historic Whaling Station admission ticket.

Saturday 11 July – 1pm
She Shants

She Shants are slightly subversive, sometimes sweet. Tired of being the passive recipients of sailors’ longing, lust or scorn, the women in our songs are strong and certain of their place. We draw repertoire from traditional and original songs of waiting, loss, adventure and a fascination for mythical sea creatures.

Sunday 12 July – 1pm
Mandurah Mariners

Here’s some blokes from the coast
Now we’re not the type to boast
So if you’re looking for a band

We’re the best crew on land
To entertain you we’ll do our utmost!

We’re the Mandurah Mariners Shanty Group. Since forming in 2019, we’ll be attending our fifth Albany Folk and Shanty Festival this year.

Visit the Albany International Folk ‘n’ Shanty Festival website for further details of other performances in and around Albany.
