A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Shakespeare in the Park comes to Albany this January!

Midsummer Night's Dream

We are delighted to announce that Fremantle Theatre Company’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is coming to our amphitheatre on Friday 7 and Saturday 8 January 2022.

Fremantle Theatre Company have partnered with Bankwest to return a summer icon to WA audiences, with Bankwest Shakespeare in the Park to be staged in Perth and regional WA for the first time in almost a decade.

Join the Dreamers, the Lovers, and the Woodland’s King and Queen. Come play with their sprites and journey a while through a wild night in the forest. The most beloved of Shakespeare’s plays, is a dazzling romantic comedy, celebrating young love, revelling in courtship, and the marriage of true minds.

The show is scheduled to begin in Margaret River on 29-30 December, before moving to Bunbury 4-5 January and Albany 7-8 January, returning to the metro area in Fremantle on 12-15 January, and ending at Kings Park for 19-29 January.

Enjoy a wonderful night overlooking the stunning King George Sound, before being enchanted by this great production.

Bring your own picnic, or pre-order a hamper with your ticket, or purchase coffee and sweets on the night from local vendors.

This is a licensed event and a bar featuring Oranje Tractor wines will be available on the night.

Be sure to bring your picnic rug or cushion (low to the ground seats allowed), and remember this event is strictly no BYO.

Gates open from 6.00pm for picnic and drinks, for a sunset show starting at 7.00pm.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a Shakespeare classic and this event would make a perfect Christmas Gift for families and theatre lovers alike.
