Shell layout

Bring the beauty of our coastal town inside with the creation of your own framed beach artwork. Guided by artist and Marine Biologist Nicola Thomas, you will learn how to select and place shells and other beach finds to create your very own shadow box artwork.

10am – 12pm

This two-hour creative workshop highlights the simple beauty of beach finds by creating your own beachcombing inspired shadow box using ethically sourced shells. Under the guidance of artist and Marine Biologist Nicola Thomas, you will learn how to select and layout your shells, creating a tasteful artwork for your own home, or give as a gift to someone special.

After creating your unique artwork, browse our extensive shell display to discover the diversity of the world’s shells and inspire your future designs.

All materials are provided, and you are welcome to bring along any additional items to use in your frame.

No previous experience is required, and this workshop is suitable for ages 14 years and over.
