Tobias Ley Photography
My early interest in photography began in the Blue Mountains of NSW, where I grew up captivated by the dramatic landscapes of the Dividing Range, and the fauna and flora within is. This passion expanded through travels overseas and across Australia, eventually leading here to Albany.
I’ve always been drawn to the hidden beauty of the natural world, as well as the more obvious beauty presented across our vast wilderness landscapes. The minute details of orchids, wildflowers and insects, the vivid colours of fungi, patterns in bark and leaf and stone, the tantalizing pursuit of capturing birds and wildlife.
Having resided in Albany for the past five years now, I have focused these photographs on the natural beauty of the Great Southern and the South West of WA. I am fascinated by the way light can transform a landscape, from the subtle and muted hoes of twilight, the dispersal of sunbeams and flares across a scene, or the serenity of a scene captured in a reflection.
