We are OPEN every day this Easter long weekend, including all public holidays.
Plus, there are plenty of great activities and events on offer across April and the school holidays. From a new interactive exhibit, to the popular Twilight and Nocturnal Tours, plus an art exhibition, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Have you ever looked at a shell on the beach and wondered what it was? Explore our extensive shell exhibition using the newly installed interactive touchscreen and try your hand at identifying the shells on display, or uncover the animals that live inside each shell. You will become an expert beach-comber in no time.
Our popular Nocturnal Wildlife Tours are back for the school holidays. Meet the amazing Aussie animals and passionate wildlife keepers on this after dark guided tour. Nocturnal Tours are available on four nights in April only, Wednesday 7 & 14 and Thursday 8 & 15. Bring your family and friends and join the wildlife keepers to discover the nocturnal furry, feathered and scaly wildlife in a whole new light. Spaces are limited so make sure to book.
Another tour experience running in April is the Twilight Tour, on Friday 9 April. Our historic site has a different look and feel when you visit at sunset. Enjoy the beauty of the sun’s last light over King George Sound while hearing interesting stories about the whaling company and the characters that worked there.
Twilight Tours are limited to a small group of participants to maximise interaction with the experienced guides. Following the tour, the upper deck of the Cheynes IV whale chaser ship is open to explore, before relaxing at Whalers Galley Café for dinner, which is included in your ticket.
Plus, over the month of April, Racquel Cavallaro’s Artist in Residence exhibition and art sale, from whaling station road will be on display. Cavallaro’s exhibition features a personal account of life in and around the Historic Whaling Station and is on display from Thursday 1 to Friday 30 April. The art gallery is free to access within the entry complex.
