Watercolour & Wildflower workshop

Immerse yourself in Albany’s beautiful Regional Wildflower Garden for a day of Plein Air painting while learning the techniques of sketching and painting in the open air. This 4.5 hour tutored workshop is suitable for all skill levels and includes a delicious picnic lunch and refreshments overlooking the King George Sound.

In this workshop you will learn how to:

  • find your inspiration
  • focus on the scene
  • simplify the subject
  • compose and paint landscape and native flora

During the workshop Ros will demonstrate how to choose and paint a scene. You will then be able to explore the extensive Wildflower Garden to find your own scene and start your Plein Air masterpiece. Ros will provide you with guidance throughout the session, helping you to develop your plein air practical skills and techniques.

You will also receive a bonus return entry ticket to the Regional Wildflower Garden so you can come back and continue painting on another day this spring.

Ros will be working with watercolour throughout the workshop, but you can bring your preferred art medium and supplies. A suggested supplies list will be forwarded after booking as materials are not provided in the workshop, so please bring along your own preferred art supplies.

A picnic lunch and refreshments are included with the workshop, please advise any dietary request in your booking.
