When the Cheynes Beach Whaling Company closed in 1978, they quite simply put down their tools and walked away, and this is what makes our experience so authentic.  

You can stand on the actual decks where the whales were processed, climb aboard and explore the last whalechaser in Australia, or stand underneath the skeleton of the last sperm whale harpooned in Albany. There is no other whaling display in the world as accessible as this!

Your entrance fee includes a guided tour of the factory plus unlimited access to all other exhibits including the popular Cheynes IV ship, our whale oil tank theatres and fascinating photo and artefact galleries.

Plus you can enjoy a BBQ lunch or picnic in our undercover picnic area or admire the view and seafood cuisine at Whaler's Galley Cafe.  There's even a whale themed playground for the younger visitors!

Don't forget to visit the Discovery Bay Gift Shop before you leave to pick up a souvenir, gift item or one of our many historical reference books.
