Australian Wildlife Park

Our Wildlife

Our friendly wildlife are waiting to meet you!

Our animal enclosures provide an opportunity to see some of our amazing Australian native animals close up.

Koalas, Southern Hairy Nose Wombats, Brush Tail Possums, Grey Headed Flying Foxes and Southern Brown Bandicoots are only the start.

What is a Macropod?

Macropods are marsupials (they have a pouch that their babies live in until developed) and include kangaroos, wallabies, and much more. The term macropod is Greek and means 'big foot'. Macropods vary in size from 500g to 90kg, and use their powerful hind legs, strong tail and big feet to cover large distances in every hop.

Did you know? Kangaroos are the largest marsupial surviving on earth today.

On your visit you can meet our friendly macropods including Red Kangaroos, Kangaroo Island Kangaroos, Western Grey Kangaroos, Common Wallaroos, Agile Wallabies, Tammar Wallabies, Bennet Wallabies, Tasmanian Pademelons, Long Nose Potoroos, Rufus Betongs and Brush Tail Betongs.

And don't forget to say hello to our resident feathered friends - Tawny Frog Mouth, Brush Stone Curlew, Masked Owl, Barn Owl, Rufus Night Heron and Major Mitchell Cockatoos!
